He claims that he thought *I* proposed to *him* when I was trying to have a straight conversation about our future--which needed to be done since I was in the States and he was in France--and I said, "So you don't want to marry me?" and when he said he that he didn't really believe in marriage, but yeah, he could marry me, things kind of went from there. o.O
