That's s great attitude to have. Sometimes the gratitude lasts forever. Also, sometimes it really does reset your expectations. What's hard--well, one thing that's hard--is if people expect you to perform as if your situation is completely top-of-the-line when it's not. In other words, it's one thing to have electricity go out for half the day if everyone understands that that's how it is and people aren't expecting a full day of productivity from you. It's another if they expect you to work and produce as if you were living in Manhattan or London or Paris.
