Actually WINE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wine_(software)) is a delightfully self-referential acronym for "WINE Is Not an Emulator."
It's supposed to make it easy to run Windows programs in Linux, but I never had much luck getting it fully going. I didn't really take the time to try though...I was under a crunch at work and suddenly needed to be ass-deep in Access all day long, so while my computer technically can dual-boot into either Windows or Ubuntu, I live in Windows these days.

I still miss Ubuntu though.
