Punished ruthlessly and savagely*

Am I the only one appalled that countless articles  about Michael Jackson's death and status as a fashion icon have pushed the headline about Iranian clerics wanting riot leaders executed to the bottom of the news page?

Some people need to get their priorities straight. They need to get some priorities, tout court.

Thank you for noticing.

I've been pissed about this all day -- trying not to rant and rave, but reminding people that there are people being murdered and beaten because they want their promised democratic rights protected.

Does it make me callous to not be sad MJ or FF passed away? Does it make me awful to be angry that people would rather mourn his death than those in Iran?

Standing close beside you on this one.

:-< I notice that the same headlines are there today, but now we also get "What happened to Michael's Millions."

*weeps for mankind*

No, it doesn't make you callous, nor does it make you awful.

It makes you the kind of human I don't have to weep for.

I'm with you. It's times like this that leave me hating our society and culture in general.

It does leave a nasty taste on the palate, doesn't it?

A bit late (I'm behind on LJ most of the time), but I agree.
