Getting used to it

Well, let's just put the Rugby World Cup behind us, shall we? Oh, wait, one more game to go... But not for the Frenchies. I don't pretend to be a sports commentator or to know better than the players and coach, but ouch. Guys, if something isn't working, trying something new can't hurt...

A big congratulations to the Argentinians. They played their hearts out; they were awesome on defense; they were hungry. They walked away victorious. Sit up and pay attention, World Rugby Federation, and find those boys a tourny to play in. They've shown they merit their place with so-called big teams. Enough already.

What will I do now that the cup is over? Well, the Top 14 starts Saturday week. See you there.

So the Frenchies lost their consolation match?

You have my sympathies.

There's always the Six Nations to look forward to - but I don't think it starts until February next year....

*sigh*

Yeah, going to have to content myself with scouting players in the Top 14. Are you getting psyched up for the game? Sick with nerves yet?

Getting very nervous now.

I have managed to eat, though - and I've got lager and wine to choose from to help steady my nerves, too ;-)

South African wine? ;)

[identity profile] footlingagain.livejournal.com 2007-10-20 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
No - Australian. At least we beat them *g*

Well, I could say 'We wuz robbed' until the cows come home, but the try was disallowed and that's that.

Those silly penalties that we gave away are what really hurts :(

Maybe next time, eh?

Australian was my second choice.

The penalties always hurt the worst, I think.

Four years to wait to see if England can join Oz and SA in getting their names twice on the trophy, or if France can do it for the first time. :-P

Oh, you really know how to divide my loyalties! I'm a sucker for an underdog.

I think we can hold our heads up, though - we played and played and played. And didn't let S.A. run away with it. And I can't say they didn't deserve to win.

But - I wanted the fairytale ending! Which is odd, because I don't always approve of happy endings ;-)

A good final match

Yes, England can definitely be proud of their run. They came back when hardly anyone believed in the team's chances, and they didn't let SA walk all over them.
