Surely not

Surely it cannot be good to have one's chest literally vibrate with stress at least twice a day. :(

What do you do to remain zen when there is an unshutoffable, unescapable source of stress in your environment?

Help. Please.

If you find an answer to that question, would you share it, please?

If anyone gives me astounding and efficacious advice, I'll be sure to repost it for all the world to see. :P

If you are going to escape this source of stress when you begin your world tour, I'd get a calender and mark off the days...

*lol* I've been doing a mental version of this, but doing it in truth, with a red pen, would probably bring me even greater relief.

Thanks.

If this source of stress is human, one finds a room with a lock on the door, goes inside and hides for a bit. Long bubble baths are good. Lying on the bed and reading or napping for hours is good.

Or go for long, long walks by yourself. If the stress is built into the environment, than the only solution is to leave even if only for short periods of time.

Good luck.

Thirding that walk idea. Exercise of any sort will help, but walking gets you out of the house and out of range, too.

Two very impt things. >:)

When I go to visit my family on their farm, I'm always grateful we bring the dogs with us - gives me an excuse to be outside a lot of the time. *g*

I have been considering the long, solitary walks. The only problem is that I can't very well get up and walk out at the moment when the stress is the worst. However, having that alone time to center myself will certainly help me take a calmer approach to the irritant.

I'll try this when we get back from the wedding.

I second the long, long walks idea.

Yes, emphasis on "long." ;)

Oh, I would just love to try that one. I baked some butter pecan cookies the other day; I'll think they'll do. Now to make my hat!

I think Jaime has the right idea.

But there's also gallon jugs of wine to consider...Let them say of you what they will...

hehe.

I am amongst the French; perhaps they wouldn't say too much. If it was wine and not anything harder.

I read comic books, which provide only temporary relief and otherwise suffer, so if you find the magical formula, I'd also be very interested in learning it.

The consensus seems to be exercise. :D How does that sit with my sickpea?

I thought about saying, "I don't -- I fall down dead" but since I haven't actually *tried* that it didn't seem fair to be recommending it as a strategy.

Besides, it has this one enormous drawback. . . .

"Destroy the source" sounds a bit imprudent, as that might also have unpleasant repercussions.

"Imagine them in their underwear" might help people with stage fright, but I've never been able to do more than imagine the idea of imagining that -- and I'm scared off.

aaand that's all the humor we have for this one right now.

hehe. Thanks. Humor helps!
