When I say nothing at all

Sometimes when I don't post it's because I don't think I have anything worth saying, but other times, I actually have too much on my mind. Instead of sharing, I retreat and try to work through it myself, only poking my head out of my shell again once the edge to unload has worn off.

I don't seek out these moments; they find me on their own, usually to my chagrin. And I think one of my current projects, Witherwilds (the working title of the trilogy), is going to be conducive to that mindset. I'm going to be dealing with some difficult subjects that are likely to make me rather ruminative and hermitic.

In an effort to be helpful, Real Life has been throwing situations at friends, family, and me that it deems will be useful  when I'm in need of acessing difficult emotions. Bah.

So, if I'm bad company, it's not because I mean to be.

I think everyone does that to some degree. Generally, it's easier to vent in LJ when the problems have reached the 'ready to whinge or bitch' stage, which is already quite far down the road to 'nearly sorted' stage, really.

Don't hug your problems entirely to yourself, though. If you can't vent into your journal, maybe there'll be someone online who would be willing to listen ;-)
