It's that time again. Time for me to serve as the neighborhood photographer for the end-of-year school party. The kids were lovely, as usual, and I actually stayed until the end this year, despite the baking sun, because the program was well-organized and relatively tedium-free.

These photos are of Selma's daughter, N. Simple circles, single or two overlapping, with a dot in the center seemed to be the mode (er, is that just a French usage?, um, fashion) this year for the m'sindzano.

Yes, she's going to be quite the heartbreaker, I'm sure.

*lol* more like it petrifies her, but I wasn't complaining. :P I need all the help I can get to take a nice portrait.

I'd have to learn how to use a camera first! :P I do think I have a decent eye, but I do myself (and my subjects, I might add) a disservice by not knowing the machine.

I've not noticed that...

That's because you see only a small picking of the 100's of photos I snap. :D Julien tries to reassure me that it is the same for real photographers, but like I said, it's all about the success rate. I could vastly improve it if I weren't so lazy and actually read the manual and made an effort to understand the settings and when to use them.

yeah, I agree with him. real photographers uses dozens or hundreds of frames to get one good shot.

Thank goodness for digital:P Only where quantity is concerned. Quality still remains in the corner of argentique.

Oh wow! She's beautiful.

I hope she's one who will break hearts, rather than be the one to have her heart broken.

I guess it would be better if no hearts were broken at all. :P

These children are just so beautiful, I'm itching to get on the next plane just to take a gazillion photo-references of them.

*nods* we hardly have any space on our harddrive for doing the same.

Lovely! Those face decorations are interesting, also.

I have to sort through my photos and discard those that are not "viable," also. Better part of a 160GB drive. The 250GB is sitting here, waiting for me to get the time to upgrade this computer to XP.

Those face decorations are interesting, also.

Although they wear the santalwood facemasks all the time, they only do the fancy decorations for special occasions.

There are some very beautiful variations. One of these days, I'm going to walk around and boldly ask the women if I can photograph them.
