Please remember, next time you have a brilliant idea about a particular story problem or angle, you must--must!--write it down. In detail.

Vivid, excruciating detail.  No matter how evident you think it is at the time.

Novels, especially your novels, do not write themselves in a day, nor a fortnight; and your brain, as amazing as it is, cannot retain every aha! and what-if? it comes up with and then produce said ahas! and what-ifs? whenever you ask. Certainly not if you ask 4 years after the fact. As is the current case.

Painful Painstaking note-taking is your friend.

And there you go, bursting my indefinite memory storage brain theory.

It is a theory I am not happy to burst, believe you me.

I read some emails I had written about a project, and I thought, What was I talking about/referring to?

Honestly? I have no idea!

katie surgery

This has nothing to do with your amazing brain. Thought I'd let y'all know katie had to have emergency Gallbladder surgery last monday. She had an attack on saturday, turned into pancreatitis, Dr. admitted her to hospital right away. She did very well and came home on Tuesday. Was released from the surgeon today and goes back to school tomorrow. Dr. said the gall bladder is usually about the size of your middle finger, hers was the size of a coke can.I'm exhausted but she is doing fine. on top of all that Tom decided since I couldn't pay his $278 phone bill he told the new accounting lady not to give me any more money at all. And since he told her we were in the middle of an active divorce she said Medicare freezes all the assets until it is finalized. So good news, bad news. i couldn't think of any other way to let you know. Love y'all Robin

At least I know I am understood. The best kind of company to be in...

There was actually a quote about that I had written down for a while, but, appropriately enough, lost. I think it was by someone named something like Belios or Belizios... but basically it was, "One knows no greater anguish than that of hvaing a brilliant idea, but losing it for not hvaing a pen and paper nearby."

I can't count the number of times I've told myself I'll be sure to remember a godo idea and haven't...

Oh, yeah! I've heard (seen) that quote before. Very apt!

What also causes great anguish is mispelling "having" twice in the same sentence. Curse Explorer and its lack of a spellcheck!

bwahaha. I'm happy to have a spellcheck on Safari (mac), but I don't understand why it doesn't want to accept "bwahaha" as a correct spelling and sadly gives no alternatives. >:)
