I was looking through photos today because a friend J and I dined with yesty asked me to gift him with a B&W photograph for his walls.  I haven't found something to share with him yet, but I did enjoy looking at some photos of Halong Bay from Vietnam.  I shared a few when we were actually traveling there, but not many because I was feeling morning sickness too acutely to want to spend time posting to LJ.  When I read your post, [livejournal.com profile] asakiyume, and the mention of your floating village in the comments, it made think of these pics again, so I thought I would put them up.

Even tikes know how to row in Vung Vieng...

Yeah, the colors were great. We would have loved to take our time getting better shots, but we were being rowed around by someone who gave us the brief "tourist tour."

THANK YOU, [livejournal.com profile] mnfaure!!

Would you mind if I reblogged them all at Tumblr (crediting you, of course)?

That's where I'm saving inspirational or helpful images?

(If you'd prefer I didn't, that's fine too--I will simply hoard them on my hard drive. Also, if *you* have a Tumblr, I'll reblog from that, if you tell me its name.)

It's a real fantasy setting! And I love the little kid commanding the boat. I'll bet they all know how to swim, too.

I don't mind! I'm happy they made YOU happy. :D

I don't have a tumblr account; I've been using Pinterest to save my story-inspiration stuff. :P

Double thank you!

*nods* I've seen your stuff on Pinterest. I do like about Pinterest that it allows you to display things as if on a bulletin board--that's cool.

The setting certainly got gears turning for me.

That little guy was so at ease manning his oars. And he left the houses and headed out over the open water with nary a worry. And yeah, I'll bet they can all swim before they walk. :)

Hee, do you know who I am on Pinterest? I thought I was all sneaky and didn't use my name or a regular email account to set up my account. :P

Oh! No, no; I don't know who you are on Pinterest; I'm just thinking of the time you linked, through Pinterest, to that lovely image of the weeping willow "drawing" in the wind.

I was wondering if that is what you meant. :D Not that I mind if my friends know who I am (ThisIsHowISeeIt). I just don't see that anyone would care what I stick on my boards, so I didn't set up the account "to be found" .

So beautiful! I have your postcard from Vietnam up on my wall here at work. I look at it now and then and think, "Wish I was there."
