wayfaringwordhack: (writing: food for thought)

Hardly any crochet this week, didn't even touch my paints or pens, but I wrote a few words. Not many and none I'm in love with, so here is a plain-Jane snippet, simply to prove words were slung and a few stuck, however temporarily (said words follow after last week's snippet):

Omusul shut the bedroom door behind himself and lifted his hand. Moonlight glinted off something angular and golden. “I figured you’d be snoring and wouldn’t hear me coming in.  Your treasurer is very busy this evening, organizing chambers for all the tributes. He just now found time to give me your new bauble. So—” Precious metals jingled as he laid the jeweled pendants across the dressing rack with the rest of the regalia Baxente would wear for the morrow’s ceremony—“where are you creeping off to and why wasn’t I invited?”

Because you’d rather be fawning over Patzi, Baxente thought, but he leaned nonchalantly against the wall, as if he legs were not already paining him, and said, “You have better things to do these days.”

Darkness hid Omusul’s expression, but the humor in his voice was unmistakable; “Still jealous about Patzi? Patience, patience! Dohan Caoya will arrive before you know it, and then you’ll be the besotted one, following her everywhere, with not a thought or moment to spare for your poor bloodloyal, faithful to you since our cradle days.”
