With photos this time.

I finished the 15 rows (columns...depends on how you look at it. ;) ) on my hexagon blanket, and now it is a great throw size to snuggle up under.

Once I got to the end, though, I decided I don't really like the staggered edge and would prefer to even it up before crocheting a border around the whole. So, now I shall make some half-hexagons to fill in those gaps. I finished one, pictured below; only 11 more to go.  The edge with the "points," shown on the right, doesn't bother me, so I'll leave it as is, which will save on yarn.

hexagons

And speaking of yarn, I don't know if I'll have enough to finish the border without switching colors mid-row. :-/  Won't know until I get there.

This is **beautiful**! I love it! And I love the way you've photographed it in the first photo--it's like a wide field.

Thank you. I'm quite fond of it myself, which I say with relief since I started it more than 3 years ago. ;)

That is very, very cool! (And undoubtedly nice and warm as well.) Somehow it gives me the impression of the sky when it's snowing. Must be the six-sidedness--plus we've been having a lot of snow here!

it is nice and snuggly on my lap when I work on it. :D And it is still "cool" enough here to enjoy that. No chance of snow here, but I see what you mean when you say it gives you the impression of a snowy sky.

Love the cat shot with the full impact. Very quilt-y, (Grandmother's Flower Garden) in the best way.

Yeah, I'm really pleased with the overall view. I don't have a thing against symmetry, but I really love how patchy and asymmetrical this turned out. Very wonky, very me. :P

Lovely. What I like most: the way the hexes all seem to be spinning. >:-)

It took many years of work, but I enjoyed it, only working on it when I felt like and not because I thought I had to. It helped that it was never intended for anyone in particular, just for the home.
