Homestretch
20 Jan 2007 05:48 pmToday, I got words. 1354 of them, finishing chapter 52. This despite: having a leisurely breakfast; then preparing for a cookout (fixing a marinade for chicken (quite the success: ginger, half a combava--peel included, onions, garlic, a chili, white wine, olive oil, and whole peppercorns) and a fruit salad); snorkeling; and eating said delicacies with a generous helping of ratatouille under the tropical sun, waves caressing the sand at our feet. This despite conversation, coffee, and Spanish chocolates and other tasty Spanish confections chez B & N.
All before 5:30 of an evening. I'm feeling good enough to write some more; alas, we have a birthday party to go to.
But this post wouldn't be complete without the handy little word meter that shows I am, indeed, on the homestretch. That 200K milestone toppled like the columns of Dagon's temple under Samson's bulging biceps, and I didn't even break a sweat.
