I'm going to post photos first and then do a write up of the trip when I have a little more time.
Lantern
The lights in the souks and malls were so lovely that I took several photos. This one is from the Madinat, a beautiful but too-clean "souk" built especially for tourists with tourists' expectations of the Middle East.

Monks in the Dubai Mall
And one of them barefoot. Unfortunately, the photo I got of them actually looking at the Rolex watches didn't turn out that well. :P
Sneak photography
I don't know if all ladies in black where off limits for picture taking or just those from Dubai, but I couldn't resist sneaking at least one.
Oooh, speaking of cameras...Julien wanted me to see if I could get a good deal on a EOS Canon 5D Mark II. It was too expensive, so I didn't buy it. But I made the mistake of trying it. Now I feel I MUST have it. :(
If stealing wasn't punished by amputation, I would have snagged one for you. :P Er, I guess I could have just bought one. But I didn't see any for sale.
