Thanks, everyone, for the nice thoughts and advice in response to my last post.
We saw the dr on Thursday--no Thanksgiving in France*--and while Soëlie still hasn't gained enough weight to suit him, he was happy with her state of health. She is active and alert despite her small size, so he is giving us 10 more days for her growth spurt to kick in before we'll start talking supplementing her feeds with formula.
So, this year, I'm thankful to have a healthy baby girl, a wonderfu,l loving husband who keeps me from full-blown panic, and a supportive, caring group of friends. ::hugs all around::

Date: 27 Nov 2010 03:03 pm (UTC)I wanted to say, if you enjoy nursing, let Soƫlle nurse often--if this is convenient for you. That way you will still get to enjoy that very intense cuddling. Nursing curled up in bed with lots of blankets on you can be cosy and relaxing, and if you're relaxed, the milk flows better. Sometimes it takes a while for babies to get the hang of effective nursing.
I love your new icon, by the way.

Date: 27 Nov 2010 04:19 pm (UTC)We had a Sabbath-Thanksgiving dinner last night. It's our night to be grateful to the USA for being a great place to have come from, and for treating our ancestors much better than any of the other places they wandered...
