Posting in a hurry. Heading out the door to the mil's.  Will be gone for a week (hope I don't forget the post next week; it might be late), and then will be back with friends, so I shall be scarce for two weeks.

Fova’s hand shot into the air, fingers wiggling. Before the songmistress could call on her, she said in a rush, “Using the wrong tone can harm both the element and the singer, having grave consequences for one and all.”

Elamie nodded once. “Precisely. Iasrees have a gift, but not a gift free of cost. Not a gift that can be used without learning and application. It is not sufficient to have been bitten by a sresree to master the elements.”

Lelo clenched her fists in her lap. That, that was what Elamie had said? The same thing she said at least ten times per class, every class?  “About time you teach us mastery, then,” Lelo muttered under her breath.

Funnily enough, I wrote this before I decided to change her age, but I realized a long time ago that her voice just wasn't coming to me as "young" as I had first thought she was. I still need to go through for consistency, though, especially in the first chapter she appears with Srila.
