Sunday Snippet

This is "old" writing, as in not written since I started putting up snippets, but I'm too drained from the recent visit, traveling, and head cold to drag any new words onto the screen.

[Srila's] hand trembled, but she managed to give her daughter the vial.

Lelo’s smile was radiant. She drew back her arm and leapt into the air as she hurled the vial against the wall. Shards of red clay flew every direction in a starburst.
       Catching the faint perfume of the released euphoria, Srila thought her heart might do the same.

“Thank you, mima." Lelo bent down to embrace her. "I’m going to help you. You don’t need the euphoria. You’ll see.”
      Srila hugged her back, but inside she was weeping. 

I hope vow to have new words by next Sunday.
