While doing the dishes today, I made myself think about the story and I had some insights to this character, a bit more background info, some ways to foreshadow his presence, etc. I looked at working in the reference, but I don't feel up to it now, so I tinkered with his first introduction on page:
I don't know if this means that I am back to writing or not, but I hope it does.
While doing the dishes today, I made myself think about the story and I had some insights to this character, a bit more background info, some ways to foreshadow his presence, etc. I looked at working in the reference, but I don't feel up to it now, so I tinkered with his first introduction on page:
The old man took a lightstone from a wall bracket and unshielded it. He wore a striped wisdom’s robe, embroidered with the hexagon, much like the one Keimul donned for ceremonies but stripped of the gold trimmings. The man’s age-speckled scalp showed through his sparse white hair. Though hooded by thick, wrinkled lids, his eyes were lively, full of intelligence and a gleam of eagerness that set Baxente on edge.
Baxente stepped toward the door, trying to decide if he should he leave. Caoya was surely safely inside the temple and he could wait for her in the sunshine outside.
The old man moved as if to intercept him. “I didn’t think you would come. I knew you would. I did. You had to, but I still I didn’t think you would. A bit of a contradiction, that, yes? Somewhat like you.”
I don't know if this means that I am back to writing or not, but I hope it does.
