This offering is just a glimpse of the types of flowers here on Mayotte.  I haven't photographed them all yet!

I'm not sure what it is in English. In French they just call it "haricot géant," literally "giant bean." *googles* Hmmm, can't find it. But I don't *think* it is edible or sweet. A site that I saw about carobs say they get about a foot long, but the "haricots géants" that I've seen measure more like 3. My nature book is no help. :(
