Thanks to frigg, I'm actually going to post a snippet this week. I'm finding it hard to get back into the habit of sharing, maybe because I'm so dissatisfied with what I'm writing these days.

Ah well, this too shall pass. It always (eventually) does.

From To Be Undone, a trouble chapter:

        Though none should be able to detect my approach, the sitra does. An expanse of green covers the valley from the stony feet of Kohinoor’s mountains to the shining mere that domes Teerth. It looks like a lawn of lush grass, but it is not. It is the sitra, its skin, or fur, or tentacles, or whatever Udhr intended it to be; and through those myriad green feelers, the sitra senses all who would enter the Holy City.
        Even though I am floating through the air, more intangible than smoke, the green ripples and hummocks, and a face swells up like a cresting wave to confront me before I reach the mere.
        I halt, out of reach of the waving, questing stalks.
        “Who seeks to enter the Holy City?” the sitra asks.

Something I've been wondering about: Did you pick the name Kohinoor, so the reader will make associations with the diamond?

No. :) Unlike WW, with TBU, I took name inspirations from Persian, Urdu, and Hindi, and came across the fact that Kohinoor means "mountain of light" in Persian. That'll work, I thought. :D

HI there,
Love the "snippets" and love the donkeys. I'm sorry i can never remember any other addresses. Mommom has been in the hospital for 2 weeks now. Yesterday they moved her to the rehab hospital to build her strength back up. She had a kind of seizure on saturday the 26th, called 911 and she was admitted that night. It took a while for dr.s to find what was wrong, in fact they put her in ICU for a couple of days. Finally determined her heart enzymes were all out of whack and her heart was going into ventricular tachycardia. have that under control now but the chemo has damaged her her kidneys and they only work at 25% so she will probly be on dialysis soon.
On a good note, I took early retirement from fairfield and we are moving to Oklahoma! We will be in Altus which is where mack and mendy and stephanie are living now. Found a house to rent this last week and had a 2nd interview with the school district and the head of special ed is recommending me to the board for the position.
Sorry this is so long but a lot has been going on. Glad you all got to get out of the city for a while and happy Anniversary by the way.
