I've finally gotten around to working on that oil painting idea I have.

Yesterday I started a charcoal sketch on canvas. I knew it wasn't a very good likeness, but I had to stop because my arm was hurting; I'm not used to drawing while standing with my arm extended.

I improved on it tonight, but it is still not Sprout. I'll try to perfect it with paint, I guess, because the charcoal is getting a little too smudgy. :P

Tomorrow, paint. Maybe.

I see what you've done with rounding her cheeks a little more, filling them out. I have to say, both pictures are **recognizably** like photos you've posted. The first maybe looks a little too old for Sprout, but still: very like your actual daughter.

Yes, I find that I often make kids look too old. Tricky to get them "smaller" and rounder. :P

She looked quite lovely with those trumpet vine flowers in her hair and a little piece of blue cloth tied around her hips like a sarong.
