Snippet Sunday...or Progress Report Day

Because, really, there is no snippet to share, just a brief summation of my week's work.

For this project, I am illustrating and writing up info on 12 critters; I've now researched 10, noting facts that could interest young readers. Heck, I found facts that interest me, too. :P  And good thing, that. Don't want the writer bored out of her gourd.

However, there are at least two creatures about which I've found very little to work with. :-<  Enough, perhaps, to keep them, but if I had alternatives, I might consider changing my line up... We'll see.

I don't know that I'll post a snippet next week because tomorrow we leave on a small trip to celebrate Junebug's first birthday.

A funny thing happened to me last night: While listening to the sportcasters talk about a rugby match that had just ended, I thought, "OK, game is over; time to write on Witherwilds."  Without realizing it, I had just been transported back to Mayotte, when I watched games several times per week and wrote pretty much everyday.

Isn't it strange the way time is fluid that way? As I dozed off to sleep, I found myself in the parking lot of a hospital I haven't been to in years. Not really: just in my mind, but it was such a vivid memory. I guess that's not the same as what happened to you, but similar seeming

Maybe if there's more rugby in your life you'll have more opportunity for writing? (I'm asking semi-jokingly, but semi-seriously.)

Interesting question about the rugby. :P I don't know that I'll find the answer any time soon, seeing as how we have to stream the games online (not having a telly or cable/what-have-you) and I find it a pain to watch on the small laptop screen...

In response to the "seeming" that is happening to us: Perhaps my recent word troubles* are the result of me flickering in and out of parallel realities. :D

* I've been using the wrong words when I know good and well which ones I want to use! For example, I will hand something to Sprout and say, "Please put this in the toilet," instead of "in the bin." And I'm actually staring at the bin. Kind of scary. :-/

I have that happen too with words--I hate it most when I *type* the wrong word, sometimes even without noticing it--for instance, in an LJ comment. My LJ friends seem (kindly and generously) to read the right word in, but it still bugs me.

I know you've told me this before but can you tell me again: do you use mainly English, mainly French, or both in the house?

Anyway--let's go for the parallel realities explanation. That's *fun* and makes us much more interesting :-)
