Just a quick word to say I've started sketching again on my picture book. No photo because it is 3 minutes to 9, and I don't want to turn into a pumpkin...or something.  I have to hit the sack.

I'm rolling again on what is now my second draft. I've had a good insight into what needs to change: since the drama is most mental, that's a clue that the terrain needs to be mental too, so I need to move deeper into my characters' heads. This goes against the standard advice to show rather than tell, but I think this is not an ordinary story.

And yes, do what the story needs. There is always time to go in a different direction if you decide that way, and not this or that or that, is better.
