I do. Maybe that is a character defect, but there you have it. I love to be right, and I especially love to be right when people treat me/others poorly.
Remember that association I worked for giving English lessons? The one I "quit" (can you quit if you were never officially hired?) after only 6 weeks because of their weird issues with money like "Why won't you work for free, Miquela?" and their lying about how many hours they would give me? Yeah, that association.
Wellllllll, J just told me that they have been shut down because some of the people who were tooting their horns about being unpaid volunteers were actually embezzling.
So there. I was right that there was something rotten going on.

And wow, you have such a fabulous place to dive in. I enjoy hearing about it. And I'm glad you recognized what was happening and got help last time.

Date: 12 Jan 2007 08:29 pm (UTC)The other, I think you will just have to work through. I do that kind of thing, too, and eventually it fades out, or something else replaces it on center stage. But really, you handled it safely, didn't you?
I do sometimes think about what it felt like when I had an allergic reaction to morphine and mostly stopped breathing. It was a weird, weird feeling. I remember wondering repeatedly (with every not-breath) when they were going to jab my throat open and, with some annoyance, why they hadn't yet. Then my doc arrived and talked me out of it and I was really annoyed that no else had tried that! But I didn't think there was anything I could do, except continue to try to breathe and wait for help.
