On top of the world!!!!
7 Oct 2007 12:02 amIn the North vs South rugby matches today, England and France snatched the wins from Australia and New Zealand. Yeah, I feel on top of the world!
Next week: England vs France.
What do you think,

Date: 7 Oct 2007 05:50 am (UTC)Australia has won twice, so I'm glad England took them. As good as the English and South African teams are, I hope they lose in the coming the rounds. They've won the cup already. I'm all about underdogs. I would love for France to come out victorious, of course (we never have), but I'd be thrilled if Argentina, Scotland, or Fiji won.

Date: 7 Oct 2007 11:16 am (UTC)As for Les Bleus or Le Quinze de la Rose, I'm torn. There have been so many changes to our team in the last 4 years, the Cup winning side is almost unrecognisable and they've really struggled to find their form. It was a huge relief to see them come out with real purpose yesterday - and to pull it off. But I agree with your point about the cup going into the hands of those who've never had it before.
Of course, if I hadn't friended you, I might not have such mixed emotions ;-) Oh, that semi-final is going to be an emotional rollercoaster!

Date: 7 Oct 2007 11:34 am (UTC)I think we're going to have to work on our melée (scrum?) because England totally dominated Australia on that front.
Forgive my vocab. I'm not up on the English terms. :P

Date: 7 Oct 2007 03:03 pm (UTC)Melee is the scrum, I think (sorry - can't find the accents on this keyboard!). When the ball's put into the middle after the two teams lock together and try to break one another's necks.
The maul is when the players surround another one who's holding the ball and try to walk him to the line.
The ruck is when the player in the maul has dropped the ball - I think *g*
